School Readiness Fair

  • What is the School Readiness Fair About?

Every year, Pretend City’s provides a free School Readiness fair to families all over Southern California. Guests can receive free health screenings and checkups while enjoying good food, live music, and informative offerings from the exhibitors. Last year we attracted over 1,500 visitors and completed over 2,000 free health screenings! Mark your calendars, the fair will take place on Saturday, March 21 2020 from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

The School Readiness Fair is part of Pretend City’s child development initiative, Good To Go From Head To Toe!, and made possible by Children & Families Commission of Orange County, in addition to the generous support of our sponsors.

  • Keeping Families Healthy

At Pretend City Children’s Museum, we believe in supporting healthy childhood development, and we know that no one is a bigger champion for their families’ health than YOU!

The annual School Readiness Fair has become one of the best events in Orange County to receive valuable resource material as well as the opportunity to speak with trained professionals about your child’s development.

  • What To Expect

Every year, the School Readiness Fair is the perfect early summer kick-off for families. Families will enjoy the various entertainments at the event such as live music performances, face painting, prize giveaways, and more!

Most importantly, we’ll have free developmental checkups and health screenings including hearing, speech and language, behavior, body mass index (BMI), height and weight, blood pressure and dental!

  • Serving a Purpose

The main goal of the School Readiness Fair  is to educate parents on how to optimize their child’s healthy development and strengthen their rapidly developing skills.

Most children do not receive developmental screenings at their well-child visits and it’s important to educate parents on the need for these routine screenings. Pretend City believes in supporting families with more information about your child’s healthy development.
