Field Trips are offered September-June. To book a group visit for the summer, please visit out group visits page.
Pretend City offers fun, educational, and hands-on play for preschool – 2nd graders! Our field trips are aligned with Common Core standards and Preschool Learning Foundations. Field trips are available Wednesday and Thursday only. All field trips include:
- Two (2) hours of free exploration on museum floor
- ½ hour reserved lunch time in our Community Rooms
- 15 minute set aside for arrival & departure
Guided Program field trips include a ½ hour lesson at the beginning of the field trip.

We are working hard to revamp our field trip programs while you are out of school! We look forward to seeing you in the fall with new and improved field trips!
Scholarships
All schools must be in Orange County and must meet one or more of the following criteria in order to be eligible:
- Title 1 School with 75% or more children on the free or reduced lunch program
- Preschool or ECE Center on government assistance program
- Community Organizations (such as group foster care agencies) who provide service to children ages birth through 8 years from underserved communities.
Applications who do not meet the above criteria will not be eligible for consideration.
Scouts
Scouts field trip options include our regular Morning or Afternoon field trip options. Daisy Scouts field trip options include lessons about the different petals. Scout Patches: $3.50 per patch.

Boy Scouts / Girl Scouts
Come to play at your own pace and learn to be good citizens. With so many community jobs in the city, what will your students choose? Field trip available year-round. Field trip costs $13/Child.
Earliest arrival time: 9:45 am.
Grade Level: Preschool – 2nd Grade
Group Size: Minimum: 7 Children | Maximum: 120 Children
Learn all about community helpers and what it takes to build a community. Your students will learn the importance of each role and how they function in our society in this engaging field trip. Field trip costs $13/Child.
Earliest arrival time: 9:30 am.
Grade Level: Preschool – 2nd Grade
Group Size: Minimum: 7 Children | Maximum: 30 Children
How does money work in our community? Your students will become sharp thinkers as they learn how to earn, save, spend, and donate their money! Field trip costs $13/Child.

Grade Level: Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
Group Size: Minimum: 7 Children | Maximum: 30 Children
Our city is a mess! Your students will learn all about the importance of recycling, reducing, and reusing materials in our world. Field trip costs $13/Child.

Daisy Scouts
Sunny’s Petal is a lesson on being Friendly & Helpful. Children learn what it means to be a community. Field trip costs $13/Child.
Earliest arrival time: 9:30 am.
Grade Level: Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
Group Size: Minimum: 7 Children | Maximum: 30 Children
Gloria’s Petal is a lesson on being Respecting Myself and Others. This lesson encourages healthy habits and teamwork. Field trip costs $13/Child.
Earliest arrival time: 9:30 am.
Grade Level: Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
Group Size: Minimum: 7 Children | Maximum: 30 Children
Rosie’s Petal is a lesson on being Making The World A Better Place. This field trip focuses on a variety of recycling concepts. Field trip costs $13/Child.

Grade Level: Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
Group Size: Minimum: 7 Children | Maximum: 30 Children
The Financial Literacy Leaf field trip is designed to focus on critical thinking skills about financial literacy. Field trip costs $13/Child.

If you would like to tour the museum please call the Fieldtrips / Group Sales Coordinator at 949.428.3900 ext. 202. Please note that tours are available Monday through Friday before 4:00 PM. Weekend tours may be accommodated on a case to case basis.
