ELEPHANT’S DAY

August 17, 2022

Smart Art: Using large paper plates and scissors, make an elephant of your own!
Elephants are herbivores, so we shall explore leaves and plants, using them to paint something lovely! For an extra challenge, hold your arm like an elephant trunk and discover how some elephants love to paint!
(Sensory Table)> Did you know that elephants throw dirt on their backs to keep cool when it’s really hot out? Well, now it’s your turn! Explore dirt on a large cloth on the floor and see how much cooler you feel!

Purpose: These activities will allow children to take healthy risks, develop their scissor skills, and experience how nature and art coincide. They will also get to harness their creativity and learn more about cause and effect.

Story Time (11am and 2:30pm):  If Elephants Disappeared by: Lily Williams
Synopsis: This story goes over that while these giants are beloved figures in movies and zoos, they also play a huge role in keeping the forests ecosystem healthy. What would happen if Elephants disappeared? Come and join our story time to find out!
