Purpose Behind the Play: Physical development through fine motor practice, sensory exploration, concept development, and color recognition.
Specifically, for: Infant (0-18 months), grownups. For the comfort of our infant guests, no older siblings please.
Smart Art Cooked pasta is a slippery, rubbery texture that littles can explore with utensils. Sea animals can glide through the water and our babies can see if they sink or float. Lastly, our little friends can paint on the window and even squirt it with water bottles! Purpose: Experiencing different textures, colors, and materials that strengthen our little one’s fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and self-help skills.
Story Time: Teddy Bear Picnic (songbook)
Synopsis: Just like children enjoy the outdoors, these teddy bears get together to picnic outside and spend a special day together!
Music & Movement: Do Your Ears Hang Low / Five Elephants Went Out One Day
Play Partners: Piper Preschool has an educational philosophy that is uniquely its own. They created a blended approach that provides children with the best of both the developmental and academic approaches. Beginning with an emergent curriculum, children are gradually exposed to components of traditional education as they progress through the school.
Grown-Up Tip: Although it will be messy, letting your little one feed themselves is the beginning of learning self-help skills. Give your child a spoon or fork to try on their own as you assist with another utensil as needed. They must be able to practice in order to master these skills.
