St. Patrick’s Day
March 17, 2022

Thursday, March 17
It’s the luck of the Irish! Join us for this fun-filled celebration as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with storytime, art, and fun activities! And be sure to don your green outfit for our Irish heading home parade at the end of the day!
Purpose Behind the Play: Number concepts, language and communication development, prosocial and helping behaviors, concept development and gross locomotor practice.
Smart Art (on-going): Shiny Shamrocks & Gold>
- The art studio has gone to the leprechauns today as we play with, create, and decorate shamrocks of all shapes and sizes!
- Create your own treasure box using a variety of materials that represent the colors of the rainbow.
- In our sensory table, we will make sensory bottles. We will provide green water, glitter, and small items to fill your very own sensory bottle to take home!
Sensational Storytime in Orange Plaza (11 AM & 2:30 PM): The Night Before St. Patrick’s Day> It’s the night before St. Patrick’s Day, and Tim and Maureen are wide awake setting traps to catch a leprechaun! When they wake the next morning to the sound of their dad playing the bagpipes and the smell of their mom cooking green eggs, they’re shocked to find that they’ve actually caught a leprechaun. But will they be able to find his pot of gold?
Grown-up Tip: Don’t just wear your green, eat it too! Do you have trouble getting your child to eat their greens? St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect opportunity to play on the color with food. Fill a muffin pan with various healthy green foods like celery, cucumbers, avocados, and more. Tell your child that they will be tasting leprechaun food. This will inspire your child to eat healthy and have fun!
