Spring is in the Air and Pretend City is celebrating this happy season! Join us as we learn about spring through art, storytime, and educational activities!
Smart Art (on-going): Floral Findings>
- With spring comes blossoms and florals. We will celebrate spring and work on our hand-eye coordination by painting with real flowers.
- We will provide playdough, bug friends, and tools for children to explore.
- Using the seeds from bell peppers, we will explore soil, spray bottles, and egg cartons to plant our own bell pepper seeds to take home and grow throughout the spring season!
Sensational Storytime in Orange Plaza (12noon & 3:30 PM): It’s Spring > This is a rhyming book about spring. It follows the Robbin, the rabbit, the deer, the duck, etc. And they explain what is to come with our spring season!
Magnificent Math & Science (directly following Storytime): Planting Party > Spring is the season for growth. Learn all about the life cycle of a plant through song as you plant your very own take-home flower.
Grown-up Tip: The seasons are a great way to help your child understand change. Photograph your child in different seasons. Make sure that the characteristics of the season are apparent in the environment. Ask your child to write a story to go with each picture and turn it into a book. Use the pictures to sequence the seasons. These pictures and activities will show your children how they are growing and changing with the seasons.
