National Ice Cream Day
Sunday July 17th
Ice cream makes everything better! Today we are celebrating one of the yummiest days of the year! It’s a sweet day to play and learn through engaging activities that are sure to be the cherry on top of this delicious celebration.
Ice Cream Tasting (directly following ice cream making):
After we make our own ice cream, we will invite our guests to our community rooms to taste ice cream that will be donated by our vending machine representative, Dan! Enjoy your choice of vanilla or chocolate ice cream to help us celebrate ice cream day! Purpose: Community eating, providing positive experiences based around food.
Generously donated by Daniel Trainor, Orange County Healthy Bites
Math/Science (11AM and 2:30PM): Ice Cream Making: Come visit our pretend ice cream stand in orange plaza! With a little conditioner and cornstarch, engage in sensory play and help us make pretend ice cream!
Purpose Behind the Play: Social emotional development, number concepts
- Smart Art (All Day): The Art Studio is the sweetest, coolest place to be today as we celebrate and create yummy art…it’s our al a mode to ice cream!
Grown-up Tip: We all remember our first summer jobs, but our little friends can have responsibility as well! Try out a new job or chore for the summer. This could be picking lemons off the tree, cleaning up the pool toys or finding all the ingredients for a family dinner!
