Mental Health Ventriloquist
May 10, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 3:30 pm
Join us for a special Mental Health Ventriloquist event at Pretend City!
Performance (TIMES 11 am & 2:30 pm):
Play Details: Join Peanuts Playhouse, ventriloquist Kasandra and her puppet friends while they play and interact! With a catchy song and time for discussion we can learn ways to include everyone and have an inclusive mindset! Stick around after the show to talk to her friends that live in the Playhouse to have hands-on experiences.
Purpose: This experience supports language and conversation development, it supports social/emotional skills such as listening, speaking, empathy, inclusion, diversity and acceptance. This also supports in building self-confidence with representation and the ability to connect. Shows also encourage creativity and open-ended and critical thinking.
About the Play Partner: Kasandra Vargas is a well-known ventriloquist, singer and musician. Inspired by Shari Lewis and Mister Rogers, Kasandra took up the art of ventriloquism to spread good morals and love and acceptance through her puppet shows. Apart from performing, Kasandra is a teacher for children on the autism spectrum. Kasandra’s main goal is to bring joy through her art and smiles on faces while delivering a fun educational puppet show.
