About the play partner:
Genevieve Barrios Southgate has been giving presentations on Mexican traditions for over 40 years, beginning in her children’s classrooms and then advancing to other elementary and secondary schools, libraries, universities and other organizations throughout So. Cal. In response to her son coming home from school in 3rd grade with stories of derogatory remarks made about Mexicans, Genevieve decided to volunteer to teach Spanish lessons to the students using food and artifacts that showed the beauty and traditions of Mexican traditions.
