Asian Pacific American Heritage Month: Korean
May 27, 2022

Friday, May 27
Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with us as we explore the history, traditions, and culture of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States.
Today we will be focusing on the varied experiences of our Korean friends.
Purpose Behind the Play: Social-emotional development, self-regulation, color identification, critical thinking, and locomotor movement.
Smart Art (on-going):
- Ddakji Dabble> We will explore the creation of our very own Ddakji – a traditional game from South Korea.
Sensational Story Time in Orange Plaza (11 AM & 2:30 PM):
- Bee-bim Bop!> In this rhyming text, a child helps her mother make bee-bim bop! Follow along as we watch their journey making this traditional Korean dish!
Grown-up Tip: Different cultures have different music! As you introduce your child to new foods around the dinner table, you can play that culture’s music. If you’re looking for Korean music, simply head to Spotify or YouTube and search “Korean.” For children’s music specifically, you can search “Korean” and “Kids.” And then enjoy!
RSVP: Not required
Fee: Included with museum admission
