Winnie the Pooh Day
January 19, 2022
Wednesday, January 19
Join us for the cuddliest holiday around as we celebrate one of the most famous bears of all time, Winnie the Pooh! You won’t want to miss these Pooh-riffic activities as we venture to the hundred-acre woods!
Purpose Behind the Play: Exploration of shapes and patterns with art, sensory experiences, number concepts, language, and gross motor development.
Smart Art (on-going):
- Bee-utiful Shapes> We’re looking to the bees for inspiration and provocation through their shapes and shades!
- Petals and Paper> We’re also admiring flowers just as the bees do! And taking our admiration to paper!
- Buzzing Busy Bees> Our sensory table will create a buzz with honeycomb cereal, egg cartons and bees!
Music & Movement 11:15 AM & 2:45 PM: Up, Down, Touch the Ground with Pooh! > Join us in Orange Plaza for some fun Pooh-themed exercises! This is a fun-tastic way to get some gross motor movement practice.
Story Time 11:00 AM & 2:30 PM: Winnie the Pooh’s Honey Trouble > With a rumbly in his tumbly, but not even a smidgen of honey, Winnie the Pooh is in real trouble. What’s a Hungry Bear to do?
Grown-up Tip: Reading together does more than help develop early literacy skills – it strengthens the emotional bond and promotes brain development. Language-rich interactions help children with communication skills, patience, empathy, and literacy—all of which are critical to success in school and in life.
