Way To Play Day

Friday, June 11th 10 AM – 3 PM
Join us for this month’s Way to Play Day as we focus on language and communication skills! Play your way through the museum and find out how you can make your play as educational as possible! We will be offering ASQ screenings and vision screenings for FREE!
Purpose Behind the Play: Whole body development, communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, social emotion expression.
Time: 10:00a.m. – 3:00p.m.; Way to Play Days occur on the 2nd Friday of every month
Good to Go From Head to Toe, Pretend City’s child development initiative, together with our play partners, are here to assist you with:
- ASQ Developmental Check-ups from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm: Assess speech, motor, cognitive and social areas (first come, first served; limited spaces available). This month’s ASQ Screening performed by Pretend City’s Good to Go Team.
Specifically for: Infants (birth -12 months), Young Toddlers (12-24 months), Toddlers (2-4 years), Preschoolers (4-5 years); Kindergarteners (5-6 years); and Grown-ups.
Play Partner: Good to Go from Head to Toe
Grown-up Tip: Play a naming game with familiar community helpers. Use pictures of police officers, doctors, bus drivers and firefighters. Be prepared to prompt to help name the community helper. Building expressive language and vocabulary takes practice and repetition.
Fee: Check-ups and activities are included with museum admission!
