Ultimate Recycling Machine (Summer 2014)

Ultimate Recycling Machine

Now Open for Summer 2014

Specifically for: Children 6 years and older

This summer we are introducing the Ultimate Recycling Machine. This large scale hands-on experience geared towards school-aged children combines engineering, collaboration, and sustainability. The challenge is to design and build a machine,“the Ultimate Recycling Invention” that transports a plastic bottle into a recycling bin. Or the challenge could be to create a roller coaster that carries a ball. It always looks different, with combinations of tube structures, zip lines, pulleys, pendulums, and more. This new activity is ideal for inter-generational participation – grown-ups and children alike will be fully engages. You will be amazed by how much creativity, tenacity and teamwork emerges from this simple set-up!

* Exhibit open Monday-Friday; subject to closure due to staffing needs or wait times during busy days.

Grown-up Tip:
Take a tip from Trash for Teaching. Next time you are about to discard an item
and cast it off as trash think about what it may be re-imagined into.
