  • Pretend City Hosts Inaugural School Readiness Fair

    Pretend City Launches School Readiness Fair for Families IRVINE, January 29, 2019- Pretend City Children’s Museum is hosting its first annual School Readiness Fair on Saturday, March 23 from 9 am – 2 pm. This is a free community event focusing on providing parents with the core information needed to ensure children are ready to start school.   The School Readiness Fair will provide free health screening services and fun activities. Early learning specialists from several Orange County school districts will be on site to assist with school registration and answer district specific questions. Vendors will also be on site to introduce families to new learning materials, programs, and learning opportunities to further assist each student’s individual needs.   “An education is one of the most valuable tools we can offer to our children alongside assuring they maintain their health,” said Executive Director Sandra Bolton Griffin.  “Pretend City is proud to be able to assist families in both those areas during our School Readiness Fair.”   Last year alone, the Children’s Museum provided over 800 individual health screenings and hopes to provide just as many this year. The School Readiness Fair is free and open to the general public and comes with the opportunity for children to earn a free ticket to the museum after completing at least three screenings.
