White Cane Safety Day

Happy White Cane Safety Day! Today, we are partnering with @beyondblindness to recognize the white cane as a symbol of independence, safety, and mobility for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
TIMES:
Blind Folded Obstacle Course & Free vision screenings: 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
Storytime: 2:30 pm
About the play partner: Beyond Blindness Established in 1962, Beyond Blindness is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children with visual impairments and other disabilities to achieve their full potential. They offer a wide range of services and resources, including early intervention, individual therapy services, early childhood classrooms, education by Teachers of the Visually Impaired and Orientation and Mobility Specialists, assistive technology, and enrichment activities. The organization serves more than 300 children with visual impairments and other disabilities each year as well as their families.
