Way to Play Day: A Package of Learning!

Join us for this month’s Way to Play Day as we explore the museum and learn more about your child’s fine motor skills and physical development! We are offering free developmental screenings for your child and will provide you with resources to help your child grow up great!
Way to Play Day is specially designed to assist parents in finding answers to questions about their child’s development. Good To Go From Head To Toe, Pretend City’s child development initiative, together with our play partners, are here to assist you.
Purpose Behind the Play: Whole body development, communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, social emotion expression.
Time: 10:00a.m. – 3:00p.m.; Way to Play Days occur on the 2nd Friday of every month
- Parenting resources: Connecting families to developmental, behavioral, learning, parenting, educational, and support services!
- FREE Developmental Screenings provided by Pretend City’s Good To Go Coordinator (10:00am-12:00pm)
- FREE Eye Exams provided by UCI Eye Mobile (10am-12:00pm)
- FREE Dental Screenings provided by Healthy Smiles of Orange County (10am-12:00pm)
Specifically for: Infants (birth -12 months), Young Toddlers (12-24 months), Toddlers (2-4 years), Preschoolers (4-5 years); Kindergarteners (5-6 years); and Grown-ups.
Grown-up Tip: Make little balls out of newspaper about the size of marbles and show your child how to “flick” a ball across a tabletop or space on the floor into an open box or a target. Use thumb and index finger to “flick.” See how far your child can flick the paper balls of hit the target. This activity will build fine motor skills.
