Way to Play Day
December 10, 2021

Friday, December 10 | 10 AM – 3 PM | 2nd Friday of the Month
Our Way to Play Day this month is focusing on Play & Social Interactions. Join us as our guides highlight how to make playtime in the museum more educational!
Purpose Behind the Play: Whole body development, communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, social emotion expression.
Specifically, for: Infants (birth -12 months), Young Toddlers (12-24 months), Toddlers (2-4 years), Preschoolers (4-5 years); Grown-ups
Good to Go From Head to Toe, Pretend City’s child development initiative, together with our play partners, are here to assist you with:
- Parenting resources: Connecting families to developmental, behavioral, learning, parenting, educational and support services.
- ASQ Developmental Check-ups (10 AM – 3 PM): Assess speech, motor, cognitive and social-emotional areas (first come, first served; limited spaces available).
- Speech & Language (10 AM – 12 NOON): Speech Pathology Associates will be conducting speech and language screenings that are beneficial to make sure they are on the right track.
Grown-up Tip: The Holidays are notorious for being a time of excess, including an assortment of treats, toys, and indulgences. But it’s also a wonderful time to focus on giving. Include your child as you pick out gifts for loved ones. Or you can have them help you wrap, tie bows, or simply sign Christmas cards. Another fun thing to do is save up a stash of paper bags from the grocery store and then turn them into wrapping paper. Cut them open into a flat piece of paper, wrap the gift with the blank side facing out, and then encourage your child to decorate the blank canvas with markers, crayons, stickers, or whatever else you have!
RSVP: Not required
Fee: Check-ups and activities are included with museum admission
