Way to Play Day
Friday, March 11| 9 AM – 3 PM | 2nd Friday of the Month
Our Way to Play Day this month is focusing on full-body movement, motor skills, and family time outdoors. Join us as our guides highlight how to make playtime in and out of the museum more educational!
Specifically, for: Infants (birth -12 months), Young Toddlers (12-24 months), Toddlers (2-4 years), Preschoolers (4-5 years); Grown-ups
Good to Go From Head to Toe, Pretend City’s child development initiative, together with our play partners, are here to assist you with:
- Parenting resources: Connecting families to developmental, behavioral, learning, parenting, educational and support services.
- ASQ Developmental Check-ups (9 AM – 3 PM): Our Good To Go Specialist will be providing developmental screenings that track your child’s growth in the following areas: gross motor, fine motor, problem-solving, social-emotional, and communication.
- Speech & Language (10 AM – 12 NOON): Barbara Moore from Speech Pathology Associates will be providing assessments
- Dental Screenings (10 AM – 12 NOON): Healthy Smiles OC will be providing free dental screenings and will be available to answer all questions about brushing, flossing, and what foods to avoid!
Grown-up Tip: Make it a goal to spend at least thirty minutes outside each day. A morning walk, picnic lunch, or family bike ride are enjoyable, easy, and cost effective! Encourage your family members to write down other ideas for outdoor activities that you can participate in together. Put them in a bowl and then take turns drawing when you’re looking for something to do outdoors!
RSVP: Not required
Fee: Check-ups and activities are included with museum admission
