Valentine’s Day Celebration
Saturday, February 12
Today we will be spreading love throughout The City! These activities are sure to fill your little one’s heart with joy, happiness, and love!
Play Purpose: Fine motor and physical development, engineering and creativity, imagination and storytelling, prosocial practice, writing, and social-emotional skills.
Smart Art (on-going):
- Invisible Hearts > Our little artists will be encouraged to draw white pastel hearts on white paper. But only once the watercolor is applied will they be able to see the hidden hearts!
- The Colors of Love > Come embark upon a color exploration with us! What happens when you add white to red? What happens when we add red to white?
- Smash & Scoop Sweetly > A sensory exploration of traditional Chinese foods, textures, and tools.
Sensational Story Time in Orange Plaza (11 AM & 2:30 PM): The Very Special Valentine > Join little Bunny Gray as he sets out to find the perfect gift for his special friend, Rosie. In the grass, under the leaves and on the glistening stream he thinks he spies beautiful, shimmery jewels!
Tales in The Library: Counting Kisses > How many kisses does a tired baby need before they say goodnight? Find out in this adorable kiss-and-count concept book.
Grown-up Tip: It’s never too early to help children express love and friendship in ways that transcend materialism. Encourage your child to participate in an activity that their friend or family member enjoys, even though it may not be their favorite. This selflessness will teach your child that “I love you” means so much more than three words inscribed on a candy heart.
RSVP: Not required
Fee: Included with admission
