Happy New Year to the trees! Join us as we learn about the Jewish holiday, Tu B’Shevat, which focuses on the connection between humans and the earth, specifically our trees!
Purpose Behind the Play: Social and emotional development, number concepts, cultural diversity, language and concept development, knowledge. of the Earth and living things.
Smart Art (on-going):
- Your Tree Spirits> Inspired by Lousie Wannier’s book, Tree Spirits, we encourage you to come and create whatever Tree Spirit you feel inside you!
- Our Natural World > An artistic exploration of a variety of materials that grow on our native trees around us.
- Sensory & Citrus> You’re invited to plant your own citrus tree to take home and grow with water and TLC.
Music & Movement: On Tu B’Shvat > A song all about the ‘birthday of the trees!’
Sensational Story Time (12 NOON & 3 PM): Tree Spirits > Louise Wannier is coming to read her interactive story to help inspire and connect children to our world in non-obvious ways, while guiding them to connect to their own spirit and feelings.
Grown-up Tip: Encourage your child to hug a tree! They can even thank the tree for the clean air that they get to breathe each day. We need trees for so many reasons; talk with your child about all the ways that we use trees in our daily lives.

Fee: Included with admission; As a bonus, anyone who purchases a membership on this day will be gifted Tree Spirits by author Louise Wannier!
