Tooth Fairy Day
August 21, 2021
Saturday, August 21st
We’re all smiles today as we welcome a special flying fairy. Be sure to join us as we prance, play, and learn some healthy oral hygiene tips. No missing teeth required!
Purpose Behind the Play: Creativity and imaginary play, STEM activity, concept development through comparisons
- Smart Art: What does your tooth fairy look like? Visit the Art Studio as we dream up and capture the magic of what we envision our very own tooth fairy to look like.
- Tooth Fairy Visit (Times Vary – Hourly appearances): The tooth fairy will be here handing out toothbrushes, posing for photos, and interacting with the children in our exhibits.
- Sensational Storytime: Children all around the world, from all different cultures lose teeth. Today we will be listening and reading an adorable tale of two tooth collectors and how, despite their difference, discover that they share some common traits. Afterward, we’ll make our own tooth packet to keep our missing teeth safe and sound.
Grown-up Tip: Encourage your child to use their imagination and draw a picture of what they think the Tooth Fairy might look like then have your child write a note to the tooth fairy and place it under their pillow with the tooth. Any opportunity to practice your child’s writing skills is a good opportunity, and if they’re excited about the topic, they may feel inspired to write more than expected!
