Surf’s Up Storytime

Join us and our friends from the Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance in a sensational storytime reading of Mop Rides the Wave of Life, with a dramatic play surfing experience, and hands-on activity!
Purpose Behind the Play: Socio-Dramatic play, social skills such as listening and speaking, self-regulation, gross and fine motor development with a hands-on learning experience.
Grown-up Tip: Activating senses at the beach can be a great way to foster your child’s self-regulation skills, as well as develop intentionality within their lives. Sometimes it’s as simple as stopping and drawing attention to the smells in your immediate environment. Next time you’re near the ocean with your child, pause, take a deep breath and say, “Do you smell the salty air?”
