Olympics Closing Ceremony

August 8, 2021

Sunday, August 8th

Meet us at the finish line! Today we’re celebrating the Olympics Closing Ceremonies with activities inspired by the Olympic Games.

Specifically for: Children of all ages and their Grown-ups!

  • Competitive Games in Orange Plaza (12 NOON & 3:00 PM): Join us in a friendly competition where we engage in gross motor games in Orange Plaza!
  • Photo Op: Come and take a photo on our three-tiered pedestals that are inspired by the Olympic Games! Use your own handmade medals to show off your ability to compete and be a good sport!
  • Dance Party: Dance to songs of unity in Orange Plaza while we celebrate friendly competition and the end of our Olympic Games!
  • Studio Art: Come to the art studio to create your own medal!

Play Partner: Pretendgineers and Brain Builders, our experienced stage staff of trained early childhood and child development educators, and grown-ups.

Grown-up Tip Not everyone can be a winner, this is an important lesson for kids to learn at a young age. It’s also important for children to learn how to treat their opponents with respect. Children learn the basics of good sportsmanship from the adults in their lives. Children who see adults behaving in a sportsmanlike way will gradually come to understand that the real winners treat everyone with respect and dignity — whether they win or lose a game.

Fee: Included with museum admission $1.00 off admission to those that come wearing red, white, and blue to represent the U.S.A.
