Parent Support Group 5:30 pm -6:30 pm:

In partnership with CHOC’s Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopmental Center, Elissa Green Kaustinen will be presenting from Families, Agencies and Schools Together (FAST) @ CHOC. The goal of the FAST Program is to create a community approach that brings together all facets of a child’s life – family, agencies, and schools. Without a collaborative approach between these systems, support can be fragmented and not translate to the real world once a child leaves school. In this presentation you will gain an understanding of what FAST is, the history and services, and a basic understanding of the special education process as your child moves from regional center support to school-based support.  We will provide you with tools and resources to help you to navigate the education system.

Please email carly.snyder@pretendcity.org to reserve a spot!

About the play partner: Thompson Autism Center at CHOC: Join us for our parent support group from 5:30-6:30 pm in our community room! Elissa Green Kaustinen will speak on IEP’s and navigating school support.
