“Every adventure requires a first step!” – Cheshire Cat
Join us as we celebrate Mad Hatter Day with fun, enchanted activities for your little “wonder”ers to enjoy and play!
Purpose Behind the Play: Concept development, self-regulation through curiosity and imaginative play, social emotional development, fine and gross motor development
- Smart Art (Times Vary): Mad Hats > Today, in the Art Studio your child will be able to create their own Mad Hatter hats. Be sure to take your hat with you to the tea party!
- Poetry Play (11 AM): Tea Party Play > It’s always tea time! Gather with us as we brush up on our tea party etiquette with an adorable story before pointing our pinkies up and playing tea party!
- Let’s Move (2 PM): Pass the Tea Cup > It’s time to tea off as we pass the tea cup with this dignified version of hot potato.
Grown-up Tip: A tea party is a great activity for your child to practice their socialization skills and manners. Encourage your child to use polite language throughout the entire activity. Model for your child when to say “please”, “thank you”, and “excuse me”. For example, you can say, “Could you please pass the cookies?” Or, “Thank you for the tea.” Children learn best from copying you!
