About the play partner:
Nithin and Susan, co-authors of ‘R is for Rice’ came together during the pandemic with another friend around their shared experiences as Asian Americans and their desire to see their cultural heritage celebrated in children’s literature. Together, they founded JKL Teahouse with a mission to inspire a broader definition of ‘American’ through stories that reflect Asian American experiences. Both authors are passionate about helping children discover the joy of diverse cuisines while fostering cultural understanding through accessible, engaging storytelling. Both are involved in AAPI causes and organizations in the community!
