Lohri

Happy Lohri!  

Today we will be celebrating Lohri, which is celebrated in Punjab in the Northern Part of India.  Lohri is a celebration of abundance, food , harvest , joy and all the things that bring peace and harmony. 

 Help us celebrate through 

Music & Movement (TIMES 11am & 2:30pm) 

Three groups from the Dhawni Dance Academy will join us for performances.  

 Synopsis of Performances: Dhwani Dance Academy: Dance performance with music 

 Purpose: Music and Dance are a key piece of the Lohri festival and Dhwani Dance Academy teacher will be choreographing a special performance with her young students.  

 Purpose: To allow children to see other cultures through the lens of dance, for children to be represented as performers, to encourage gross motor movements in all children.  

About Dhwani Dance Academy 

They performed at the Global Village Festival in the Summer.  Music and dance are key component to the celebration of Lohri; the instructor, Hiral Joshi, will be joined by some of her students.
