Jewish American Heritage Month
May 19, 2021
Discover, explore, and celebrate the vibrant and varied American Jewish experience with the Jewish Federation & Family Services and PJ Library.
Shavuot is a Jewish holiday that celebrates the sacred gift in the receiving of the Torah. Join us as we gather to learn about this holy holiday as we are joined by Play Partners, read books, and sample some tasty treats.
Purpose Behind the Play: Social and emotional development, language and literacy development, developing math concepts including classification and sorting.
- Smart Art (Art Studio-Times Vary): Community Landscape > Greenery and flowers are reminders of the harvests and beautiful blooms on Mount Sinai. Join us in the Art Studio as we create a community art project to recreate a beautiful landscape.
- Program Times (11:30 AM, 2 PM): Our friends from Jewish Federation & Family Services and PJ Library will be here to lead a special Shavuot activity to celebrate this holy holiday.
Grown-up Tip: By acknowledging differences and participating in new activities, grownups can begin conversations about various traditions and provoke interests in new cultures, places and people. This appreciation for diversity will benefit your child as they begin school with children from all walks of life.
