Islamic New Year
July 29, 2022
Friday, July 29th
Join us as we observe Islamic New Year with our community partner, The Islamic Center of Irvine! This is a special holiday marking the beginning of a new lunar Hijri year.
- Smart Art: Explore phases of the moon and stars using marshmallows of varying sizes and using toothpicks to poke together constellations!
- Sensational Story Time (11 AM & 2:30 PM): Through a storytelling activity, we will explore the phases of the moon in relation to time, and learn all about how these phases correlate with this Islamic Celebration!
Purpose Behind Play: Integrated activities that encompass a wide range of cultures and beliefs, story-telling and socio-dramatic play enhancements, fine motor development, open-ended and creative intentionality.
Grown-up Tip: We all would like to know about other cultures and religions. Consider purchasing books about holidays, cultures, and food that are new to you and your family. A fun, easy and inexpensive way to immerse the family with information.
RSVP: Not required
Fee: Check-ups and activities are included with museum admission
