
International Friendship Weekend

Join us for the upcoming Pretend City International Friendship Weekend and meet Gwen Poindexter, the author of the heartwarming children’s book “Zoe the Short-Necked Giraffe” and its sequel, “Rosie the Rhino.” Gwen’s books are all about spreading the message of love and the importance of friendship among children.
Exploration No. 1> Draw on Glass!
Exploration No. 2> Friendship bracelets!
Exploration No. 3 (Sensory Table)> Work together!
Purpose: These activities will encourage children to form connections with one another, and allow them to think about all the wonderful people in their lives. They will develop fine motor skills, recognize patterns, and cooperate with others. They will also learn about empathy and friendship on this exciting day.
Story Time (TIMES: 11 am & 2:30 pm): Ruby the Rainbow Witch by: Kim Ann
Math/Science (directly following story time):
Just like in the story, we are going to engage in making our own fairy dust! Come join us as we make choices about color and patterns and make our own take-home fairy dust!
Purpose: Making connections between literature and the way children see and understand the world supports their developing love for literature, this activity allows children to make choices and creatively express themselves through color choices and glitter!
