International Day of Peace
September 18, 2021
Saturday, September 18th
Peace Day is an internationally celebrated tradition where we come together to strengthen ideals of peace within and among all peoples. Celebrate with us as we share our love for the world and each other with activities that promote harmony and caring.
Purpose Behind the Play: social emotional development, self-regulation, empathy, gross motor development, literacy and communication
- Smart Art (Times Vary): All for one, and one for all! Fly into the Art Studio to help us create a huge peace dove to symbolize the harmony and kinship that we all share as a Pretend City community.
- Family Fun Fitness (11 AM & 2 PM): Peaceful Positions > In celebration of International Day of Peace, we encourage our little guests to explore their inner harmony through this child center yoga session. Gather together as we focus on mindfulness and peace in a healthy, fun way.
- Moment of Peace (11:15 AM & 2:15 PM): In an act of solidarity with participants from around the world, we will honor a minute of silence to help keep the “Peace Wave” moving. Please join us for this act of peacebuilding!
- Language Lesson (11:30 AM & 2:30 PM): Today we celebrate peace throughout the world. Join us as we go on a colorful journey to meet children from around the world and learn different ways to say peace!
Grown-up Tip: The Center for Living Peace provides classes and programs that help people develop the skills to bridge positive intentions to conscious and responsible action. You with your baby can build a strong bond as you both help each other reach a state of relaxation.
