Igniting Potential

Igniting Potential, our one-day fundraiser, in conjunction with 30 local nonprofits through Orange County Community Foundation, is happening on September 17, 2025. Over the past few years, through Igniting Potential, Pretend City has renovated the Art Studio, Construction Zone, Health Center, and the Amphitheater.

This year, our goal is to raise $15,000 in 24 hours to benefit our Kidstock Arts & Music Festival. At Kidstock, children learn to express big feelings through music, art, and movement. These creative experiences help build self-esteem and emotional awareness in a joyful, supportive setting. In 2026, Kidstock will be bigger, brighter, and more hands-on than ever.

• 11 am: Let’s Dance with Ashton from Backhausdance and learn different dance steps, simple choreography, and groove to kid-friendly tunes, as we all enjoy a fun-filled time together!
• 2 pm : Join Ashley Mills Monaghan for a fun performance full of interactive and engaging songs that invite the child and their families to learn through music and movement.

Backhausdance –  mission is to engage and educate diverse audiences about the relevance and vitality of contemporary concert dance, both as a multi-sensory art form and as an essential connection to learning, creative expression and overall well-being.

Ashley Mills Monaghan-  is an award winning children’s musician and author that specializes in creating intentional material and resources for early childhood development.
