Grandparents’ Day
September 12, 2021
Sunday, September 12th
Grandparents can be a huge part of any child’s life and that’s why we want to give them their own day of celebration! Today we will be celebrating grandparents and our appreciation for all that they do with special activities and fun!
Purpose Behind the Play: social-emotional development, self-regulation, literacy, communication, and sensory play
- Smart Art (Times Vary): Stop by the Art Studio to create a cute keychain keepsake that is as unique and as special as your grandparent. *while supplies last, one key chain per child
- Sensational Story Time (12 NOON & 3 PM): Join us for a delightful reading of Mercer Mayer’s classic Grandma, Grandpa, and Me. After the story we’ll work with our grandparents to make our own “blueberry pies”. This is a sweet way to spend time with our grandparents.
- Nature Tales (3 PM): There’s nothing more special than staying at your grandparents’ house. Join us as we hear a sweet story of how a young boy comes to appreciate time with his grandma. After the reading, we’ll work with our grandparents to make our own bird feeders.
Grown-up Tip: If you enjoy gardening, include your grandchild in the process by encouraging them to help plant seeds and tend the garden with you. You may even want to reserve a small space of own for the garden just for them to tend. This valuable skill will not be forgotten and the time spent with you will forever be treasured.
