Cooking in the City

Join us in imaginative cooking with REAL tasty food. Taste African American cuisine AND some Filipino cuisine! Come celebrate and learn during this very special, multicultural Cooking in the City.

About the play partner: MASC (Multiracial Association of So Cal) 

Jeannette Soumbasakis is a Filipina American, lawyer, book lover, and super fan of pancit, Filipino noodles. She is married to her Greek husband and they have 2 Greek Filipina daughters.  Jeannette has worked with MASC for the past 5 years, focusing primarily on coordinating Teen Talks, the Youth Artist Showcase, and a variety of events in Orange County for the multiracial community. 

Lesli Mitchell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, children’s book author/illustrator, and natural hair enthusiast! Lesli, mixed-race African-American and Swiss-German/Irish,  grew up in Los Angeles and currently lives with her family in Orange County, CA. Lesli is married to an African-American man, and they have a 20-year-old daughter in college. Lesli has participated in MASC leadership for seven years and enjoys developing programs and building community. Lesli currently works as a mental health therapist.
