Join us and Dr. Seema as we celebrate Diwali! Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, is among us! It is a time to light our inner lamp of knowledge to reflect on the victory of good. Come celebrate with us we create culturally-inspired art and learn about the traditions of this special holiday.
Purpose Behind the Play: Social-emotional development, sensory play, fine motor development, and literacy and communication
- Smart Art (Times Vary): Stop by the art studio as we create beautiful, brightly colored Rangoli patterns that will illuminate and shine.
- Cultural Connection/Holiday History (11 AM): Diya Lanterns are a traditional symbol used to celebrate Diwali. Join us as we learn about the traditions of Diwali and create your own Diya lanterns to celebrate the festival of lights.
- Performance (11 AM): A special Diwali performance by Dr. Seema Choudhary and thee from Montessori Preschool Irvine & Lake Forest kids.
Grown-up Tip: Exposing your child to other cultures and traditions helps them understand and respect differences and similarities among those in your community. Engage with them by participating in the activities and ask them questions about the process, their observations, and if they notice any similarities to their own traditions.
