Baby Steps (Grandparents Day)

Calling all Grandparents to join us for this special Baby Steps event which just happens to fall on Grandparents Day! Come celebrate bright and early with us before we open to the public. Your grandchild can’t wait to show you the ropes!
Purpose Behind the Play: Physical development through fine motor practice, sensory exploration, concept development, and color recognition.
Specifically, for: Infant (0-18 months), grownups. For the comfort of our infant guests, no older siblings please.
Smart Art Using various materials, let your little one decorate a card for their grandparents and enjoy a sensory bin filled with cornmeal and trucks!
Purpose: Experiencing different textures, working on fine motor skills, and cause and effect.
Story Time: Llama Llama Gram and Grandpa by Anna Dewdney
Synopsis: Llama is having a sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa, but it’s also his first night away from Mama. Join us as we read this cheerful rhyming book and watch Llama overcome obstacles along the way!
Music & Movement: Grandma’s Feather Bed by John Denver and Christopher Canyon
Synopsis: An uplifting and beautifully illustrated adaptation of John Denver’s song-funny, catchy and great to dance to as well!
Play Partners: Piper Preschool has an educational philosophy that is uniquely its own. They created a blended approach that provides children with the best of both the developmental and academic approaches. Beginning with an emergent curriculum, children are gradually exposed to components of traditional education as they progress through the school.
Grown-up Tip: A child’s relationship with a grandparent provides an additional bond and experience than with a parent. It’s important for children to learn from other adults that can teach tradition, trust and family history and culture.
