Arbor Day
April 30, 2021
Friday, April 30: Let’s Celebrate Arbor Day!
Trees are not only beautiful, but they are essential to our existence as human beings! Join us as we celebrate their importance with some tree-rific play.
Purpose Behind the Play: Cognition and inquiry, classification through sorting, self-regulation, and language and literacy development
- Smart Art (Art Studio – Times Vary): Twig Tree Art> In honor of Arbor Day we will be creating our own trees out of branches and twigs from our very own trees. Join us in the Art Studio today as we create some nature art!
Grown-up Tip: Plant a tree with your child! The long-term benefits of this simple activity are phenomenal! Trees help cool your neighborhood, provide food and remove harmful pollutants from the ozone. According to the Arbor Day Foundation, just one mature tree can produce 260 pounds of oxygen and trap 35-800 pounds of carbon dioxide each year!
