Music & Movement: 11am and 12pm

Join us at Pretend City as we celebrate African American Music Month! Experience the rich history and vibrant sounds that have shaped American culture through engaging activities, music and movement with our friends from Rhythm Child.

About the play partner:

Rhythm Child is an interactive, engaging drumming and educational company that works mostly with early education-aged children, along with the early elementary years.

Norm Jones is an Award-winning songwriter, musician, speaker & educator who has mastered the art of connecting people through music. Using drumming as a tool of engagement and rhythm as a building block for learning, Norm has helped over 100,000 children under the age of 6 discover a new form of creative expression & creativity. As the current percussionist for Reggae Artist, Ziggy Marley, Norm continues to expand his message of “Hope Through Music” to the world.

Norm’s work with Rhythm Child enables children to incorporate music into their daily life and connects them with their inner rhythms by using drumming as a vehicle for building confidence, communicating positive messages, and encouraging community building.
