Welcome the Crawford Family – Our Home’s Newest Featured Family!

Friday, March 9 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Today, we welcome the Crawford Family to our home exhibit! Sean-Paul, Lindsay, McKenna, and Colin are an Irish-Norwegian family. Both Sean Paul and his wife Lindsay work for the Irvine Police Department full time while raising two children. They live very busy lives but still make time for huge family events with their large extended family. Sometimes these family events are celebrated over a 4-day period and include traditional dishes such as Shepherd’s Pie and Belfast soup. Explore the home to learn more about this family and the way that they live and celebrate their cultural background.

Activity Times: Police Department Touch-Car Experience @ 10:00am; Home Ribbon Opening @ 10:30am; Sensational Story Time @ 11:30am

  • Home Ribbon Cutting (10:30am): The Crawford family will join us to open the ribbon and our new home for all guests to tour and enjoy!
  • Art Studio Sessions: Join us in the Art Studio today to participate in decorating our community art project which will be a Police Box Car.
  • Police Department Touch-Car Experience (10:00am-12:00pm): The Irvine Police Department will be bringing out some of their police vehicles for children to explore and take photos with!
  • Sensational Story Time (11:30am): Let’s Meet a Police Officer > Do you want to learn more about police cars? Police dogs? Other tools the police use? Then it’s your lucky day! • Cultural Dance Performance (3:30pm): Irish Dancers > Join us for an Irish dance performance by The Claddagh Dance Company to celebrate the Crawford families Irish heritage. The Claddagh Dance Company has added a touch of authentic Irish Culture to the lives of Southern California communities since 1985. Students learn traditional soft and hard shoes dances, and have the opportunity to participate in community events and compete throughout the world. The Claddagh Dance Company is proud to have multiple Regional, North American, All Ireland and World Champion titles and is the only school in the Western US that hold these titles in both solo and team competitions.

Play Partner: The Crawford Family, Irvine Police Department, and The Claddagh Dance Company

Grown-up Tip: It is important for children to know that Police Officers are here to help us and keep our community safe. When you see a police officer out in the community point them out to your child so they know how to identify them in case of an emergency.
