Read Across America Day

Monday, March 2:

“You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read with a child.” – Dr. Seuss

Today we are joining thousands of children around the nation in celebrating Read Across America Day! Literacy is such an integral part of a child’s academic success and Pretend City is here to support your child’s love for reading as we read across the city.

Purpose Behind the Play: Developing reading concepts, appreciating books and reading. Practice with language development through story retelling, posing questions, and listening to read-a-louds.

  • Sensational Story Times (10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm): Our Pretendgineers have selected some of their favorite children’s books in honor of today’s special celebration. Come along as we “read across America” in our very own city.   Keep the reading momentum going and purchase a book in our mini-mall to read at home. Let’s Read across America every day!

Pretend City Children’s Museum is an educational nonprofit with a mission toward preparing students for healthy development and school readiness. If you would like to purchase tickets, please click here.
