I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for ICE CREAM! Get the inside scoop on National Ice Cream Day right here—we’re celebrating it at the museum today with FREE ice cream from 12pm-1pm! Whether you like it in a cup or a cone, with sprinkles or with fudge, come celebrate with us for a day filled with ice cream activities—including crafts and songs!

Purpose Behind the Play: Social-emotional development, number concepts 

Art Studio Sessions: Ice Cream Cone Art > The Art Studio is the sweetest, coolest place to be today as we celebrate and create yummy art…it our al a mode to ice cream! 
Life Lessons (11:30 am): Ice Cream Friends > Sharing is caring…especially if it’s your favorite ice cream! Join us as we read a classic Mo Willems book and talk about what it means to share. Following the story, we will work on our social-emotional skills as we practice sharing with our friends.  

Free Ice Cream from 12:00-1: 00 pm in the Real Café 

Math Matters (3:00 p.m.): Scoop Counting > There’s nothing better than multiple scoops of ice cream, but first, we need to be able to count each one. Gather around as we use our fine motor and counting skills to play a fun ice cream math game!  

Play Partner: Healthy Bites Vending 

Grown-up Tip: Make some ice cream at home with your child using the recipe at this LINK. Making ice cream is a fun and easy science activity that your children will love to participate in because they will be able to see the changes happen right before their eyes and taste the real results!
