Home School Days

Friday, April 21 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Once a month we offer Homeschool students unlimited access to our interactive exhibits offering learning through fun experiences. A field experience to Pretend City offers your students a learning experience through hands-on educational play. The Pretend City environment allows you to create a plethora of curriculum and activities to surround your students with challenging problems and absorbing questions.

Times:  Morning Activities: Math Matters @ 11:30am

Afternoon Activities: Simple Science @ 1:30pm; Nature Tales @ 3:30pm

Activities today will include the following:

  • Math Matters (11:30am): Four Flowers> Today will explore the number four together with a fun and interactive lesson, followed by a fun number 4 flower making art activity.
  • Simple Science (1:30pm): Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle > In this educationally rich lesson, children will learn how to apply the 3 R’s in their lives to help protect our planet for future generations.
  • Nature Tales (3:30pm): Diary of a Worm > Join us in Orange Plaza for this fun story about a worm that lives with his parents, plays with his friends, and even goes to school. After the story children will have the opportunity to get their hands dirty and explore worms in our nature sensory bin.

**Contact us to inquire about the use of one of our classroom spaces on this or future dates for your parent/teacher meetings, cohort meetings, or potential group classes**

Grown-up Tip: Looking for new ideas for your home-based classroom?  Look no further than our very own Pretend City Pinterest boards. These boards are full of ways to make imagination and education come to life through “play”.
