It’s the most wonderful time of the year—Back to School! In this workshop, exclusively for parents, you’ll learn about spotting attention and behavior difficulties in your child and how to address them. We’ll provide you with tips and resources to help your child reach his or her fullest potential for the academic school year coming up!

Topic: “Getting Ready for the New School Year” – an end of summer workshop to help families return to school year structure and routines.

Time: 5:30-7:30p.m. Pretend City will be closed to the general public-NO Child Care provided

Specifically, for: Parents and other caregivers. No Child Care will be provided for this class.

Child Behavior Pathways (formerly CUIDAR) helps parents identify possible attention and behavior
difficulties in their children before they enter school. Our parenting classes help parents address these
behavioral obstacles to learning so that their children can have more successful school experiences.
Child Behavior Pathways services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of professionals from both
CHOC and UCI who have expertise in early childhood behavior and learning issues.

This expertise, in collaboration with your involvement, can help to guide your children down the proactive path to success.

Parents/Caregivers will learn about the following:

  • Preparing your child for school
  • How to teach prosocial skills for school success
  • Creating morning and bedtime routines
  • Supporting separation anxiety

Play Partners: Child Behavior Pathways

Grown-up tip:  There is no rule book for parenting or required parenting classes that you must take to get your parenting license.  However, attending a parenting class is a great way for you to learn some great tips, strategies, and ideas for how to handle those tough situations that you don’t feel prepared for. These classes will provide you with great resources and connect with you a support system of other parents that you can learn and grow with. No one ever said that parenting would be easy, but it’s much easier with a little support from new friends and qualified professionals.
