Flag Day Celebration

Friday, June 14 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Look Up! Do you see the Flags?

Keep your eye on the grand ‘ol flag! Join us as we learn all about the flag that represents our country and why it’s such an important symbol! Take part in activities, games, and art focusing on the stars and stripes!

Purpose Behind the Play: Creativity, literacy and language development, symbol identification, fine and gross motor practice.

  • Smart Art: This Flag is My Flag Stop by the Art Studio to create your very own American flag. We will use different mediums in red, white, and blue to create unique renditions of one of our most beloved national symbols.
  • Loud & Proud (11:30 am): Pledge of Allegiance – When we pledge allegiance, we are saying how happy we are to live in the United States. Join us as we learn about the pledge and take a moment to recite the pledge together.
  • Symbols in Seconds (3:00 pm): My First American Flag – In Orange Plaza children will learn about the different elements of our flag such as the shapes, colors, and number of stripes as they create their own flag to take home.

Grown-up tip: Flag Day is a day to celebrate the adoption of our countries flag. If your family were to create a flag what would it look like? Talk to your children about the colors and symbols that they feel would represent your family and then create a flag together to display in your home. This is sure to be a family heirloom you will treasure for years to come.
