Celebrate Basant Panchami

Tuesday, January 28 @ 11:00 am - 3:30 pm

Basant Panchami is an important Indian festival that celebrates the onset of spring and recognizes Goddess Sarawati, the goddess of education and learning. Revel in the fun as we learn about this unique tradition through interactive activities and crafts

Purpose Behind the Play: Social-emotional development, self-regulation, fine motor practice, communication, and creativity.

  • Smart Art (in the Art Studio): Mellow Yellow > Yellow is predominant color for this lively celebration. Swing by the Art Studio as we get inspired by fields of mustards and make beautifully bright creations.
  • Engaging Engineering (11:30 am): Kite Creations Kite festivals are symbolic with Basant. Gather with us as we use various materials to engineer our own kites in celebration. How high will your kite fly?
  • Cultural Connection (3:00 pm): Our friends from Our Indian Culture will be here to share with you some of the long-standing traditions of this lively celebration. Join us as we fly to new heights and learn more about Indian culture.
