Boy Scout’s Week

Monday, February 5 @ 1:30 pm - Friday, February 9 @ 5:00 pm

Time: Field trips may be booked for the afternoon beginning at 2:00p.m.

Specifically, for: Boy Scouts

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. What better way than to celebrate Boy Scouts Day than with a week long special promotion on our Pretend City Field Trip offerings! This week only, Boy Scout troops who book an afternoon field trip will receive 5 free admissions to be utilized for Boy Scouts or extra chaperones. Pretend City offers 3 field trip options that help scouts to earn a badge:

  • Lions-Lions Honor:

Children will participate in an outing to Pretend City Children’s Museum where they will demonstrate the cub scouts sign, motto, and salute to their designated field trip lead and explain the meaning of each one of these. They will conclude the guided portion of their visit by participating in a team building challenge before playing in the museum at their own pace with the supervision of chaperones.

  • Tigers-Tiger Bites (Age: 6-7)

This field trip encourages healthy eating, physical activity, and teamwork through a variety of activities. Students will participate in activities that will help them to identify good and bad food choices, handwashing techniques, table manners, and how to prepare a healthy snack to share with their den members.

  • Wolf-Finding Your Way (Age: 7-8)

The Finding Your Way lesson focuses on the mapping and community. Students will learn how to read a map, what a compass rose is, and how to use their compass. Students will end the day with a fun scavenger hunt as they find their and locate hidden in the city.

(Scouts must bring their compass to participate in this lesson)

Play Partners: Each field trip has a specific play partner who will facilitate the field trip. Visit our website for more details.

Grown-up Tip: Getting your child involved in a group is a great way to increase their social skills. Being part of a group involves many subtle tasks including give-and-take and the ability to assert oneself at appropriate times. These skills are particularly important to your child’s success in the classroom setting.

RSVP: Reservations are required 3 weeks in advance. Please visit our website and read our Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

  • Minimum of 8 paid scouts required in order to receive free admissions

Fee: Guided Field Trip $9.50 per Boy Scout; Self-Guided Field Trip $8.50 per Boy Scout*
