Family Autism Night – August

Monday, August 26 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us for a special event that provides a sensitive environment for children on the autism spectrum, as well as children with disabilities, and their families. With the help of Pretend City’s experienced and educated team, your child can discover different activities while exploring the museum and learning to interact with peers.

Time: 5:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Specifically for: Families with children of all ages who are on the autism spectrum or have a disability, as well as therapists and/or behavioral coaches.

Play Partners: Pretendgineers and Brain Builders, our experienced stage staff of trained early childhood and child development educators, and grown-ups!

Grown-up Tip: Some children on the autism spectrum may have difficulty comprehending or recognizing dangerous situations, which makes traffic and street safety a top teaching priority. Teach your child to stop upon reaching a curb. Create a simple nonverbal gesture or verbal queue such a “Stop, is it safe?” for your child. This will “pair” an act with a safe behavior and give you a moment to assess the traffic situation in order to keep your child safe.

RSVP: Register here; max: 350 guests

Fee: FREE (Only guests with a reservation and a confirmation number will be admitted!)
