Author Days featuring Jen Chiou

Tuesday, September 12 @ 11:00 am

Computer coding is all about telling the computer (or robot) what to do in a way that the computer will understand. Jen Chiou will be sharing her new coding for kids book with us today called How to Turn Your Grown-Up into a Robot and Other Coding Stories. In this fun story, children will learn simple coding concepts while having fun getting their grown-ups to make silly sounds and motions.

*20% off admission if you purchase How to Turn Your Grown-Up into a Robot and Other Coding Stories in the Pretend City Mini Mall before entering*

Time:    11:00 a.m.

Play Partner: Author Jen Chiou

Grown-up Tip:  Computational thinking, the foundation of coding, can be developed at a young age, but there are few resources to help parents or teachers. This book is an old-fashioned picture book with a twist– a physical book that engages the kid reader and encourages them to interact with the book, tapping and choosing from different options, all while exposing them to the fundamentals of computer coding.

RSVP:    Not required

Fee:    Included with admission
Receive 20% OFF General Admission to Pretend City when you purchase How to Turn Your Grown-Up into a Robot and Other Coding Stories in the Pretend City Mini Mall prior to museum entry.
