  • Pretend City Celebrates Literacy Month all September Long

    September is literacy month and Pretend City is celebrating reading all month long. During this special month, authors from across southern California will join us for storytimes of their books. Bookworms will be excited to read children’s books from some of their favorite authors and illustrators. Parents will have the opportunity to purchase the books right at Pretend City! Angie Flores will kick off literacy month with a storytime from her book, Cub’s Wish on September 4th. National Read a Book Day, on September 6th, will be a day full of storytimes! We hope you join us for a month of book readings as we inspire a love for reading across all age ranges.

Pretend City Children’s Museum is celebrating their 10th birthday in Irvine with a confetti party for families on Thursday, August 29, 2019. Families may join Pretend City staff for birthday cake, live music and dancing, and 10 stations with various art activities including paper hat making and face painting.     Research shows that elementary school children are at the optimal age for second language acquisition. Children who speak a second language test higher and speak better. Sign your little ones up for Portal Languages’s full immersion Spanish Camps this summer! Time spent in the summer camp is equivalent to months of language classes for your children.
