National Tooth Fairy Day & Smile Drive

Sunday, February 28, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Time:    America’s Tooth Fairy will be here from 12:30-2:00pm

Other activity times will vary throughout the day

Specifically for  Children of all ages and their Grown-ups

Today Pretend City will welcome a very special guest to our museum, the Tooth Fairy! The Tooth Fairy will be coming to collect all the donated oral care products from our Smile Drive and is so excited to come and play with the children at pretend city. The Organization America’s Tooth Fairy will be leading the children in some special activities from 12:30-2:00pm in Orange Plaza and our very own Pretendgineers will be facilitating the following activities throughout the day.

  • Sensational Story Time: Arthur Tricks the Tooth Fairy by Marc Brown-D.W. is jealous when Arthur loses a tooth and gets a visit from the Tooth Fairy. What will D.W. do?
  • Math Matters: Can you count your teeth? Join us in the Health Center/Dental Office as we talk about teeth and how many teeth we have in our mouths.
  • Simple Science: Why is it important to brush your teeth and how often should you brush them? Join us in the Health Center/Dental Office as we talk about the importance of dental hygiene and how to keep a healthy smile.

Pretend City will be accepting donations of oral care products for the Smile Drive from February 19th-February 28th. The donation box can be found at the front desk.

All donations will benefit at-risk children and teens in Orange County.

Play Partner: America’s Tooth Fairy, Pretendgineers and Brain Builders, our experienced stage staff of trained early childhood and child development educators, and grown-ups.

Grown-up Tip: Encourage your child to use their imagination and draw a picture of what they think the Tooth Fairy might look like than have your child write a note to the tooth fairy and place it under their pillow with the tooth. Any opportunity to practice your child’s writing skills is a good opportunity and if the subject is one that they are excited about, then chances are they will write much more than you ask them to.
